This week we’re continuing our SideDoor Superstar series where we highlight the amazing work you all have accomplished utilizing the platform.
Last week we introduced Michigan based SideDoor designer, Lauren Figueroa (Lauren Figueroa Interior Design). If you missed that conversation, you can see it on the blog here.
And today, we have the pleasure of taking a look at one of her projects designed using SideDoor.
Designer: Lauren Figueroa
Photographer: Alyssa Wagner
Location: Kalamazoo, Michigan
Tell us about the client, the project, and their style:
The goal for this project was to furnish a very interesting living room in a contemporary Kalamazoo home.
My clients were about to take on a major renovation which would semi-open up the kitchen to their living room, as well as replace all the flooring throughout the main floor.
Style wise, she wanted to cozy-and-casual-up what was a very large and somewhat formal living room. She wanted to use mostly natural tones with lots of texture, and wanted to make the space feel more intimate, especially with the large size.
Why SideDoor was the right fit:
This client was a busy business owner who worked from home. She was a quick decision maker and super easy to work with, and wanted a plan she could very easily bring to life on her own.
She also wanted to execute quickly, so being able to filter through in-stock only items on SideDoor was a big perk for her.
How the client used the collection:
Using the SideDoor collection, this client was able to one-click check out the same day we created the plan. She didn’t have to check out at six different retailers or keep track of many different orders.
I believe the only element she purchased elsewhere was the rug, however she used the one I included for inspiration and sizing.
Then, she was able to use the floor plan and style board to set everything up in its location once it arrived.
Next week we’ll be talking with Lauren again specifically about how she’s found success with the platform—financials, process, sales, oh my! So stay tuned for that.
If you want to follow along with Lauren’s design work, you can find her website here, as well as her social media profiles on instagram, linkedin, and facebook.
And watch out for our schedule announcement of the SideDoor University episode to be hosted by our very own featured designer for this month, Lauren Figueroa. We can’t wait to learn together!
